Service
Shopify speed work, measured before and after.
Lighthouse, WebPageTest, and real-user data. LCP, INP, CLS moved into the green. With a hand-off so your team can hold the line.
The problem
Shopify stores get slow gradually, then suddenly.
Apps stack up. Hero images get heavier. The collection page loads twelve third-party scripts before the first product card paints. Mobile LCP is over four seconds, INP is north of 500ms, and Search Console quietly stops rewarding the store.
Speed work isn't about chasing a Lighthouse number. It's about removing the friction between intent and purchase — and reclaiming the SEO and conversion lift that Google is silently withholding from slow stores.
Deliverables
What you get
- Lighthouse + WebPageTest audit on every key template (Home, Collection, Product, Cart, Search)
- Real-user monitoring baseline (CrUX) — what actual visitors are experiencing
- Prioritized fix list — biggest CWV win first, lowest risk first
- Image pipeline: responsive srcset, modern formats (WebP/AVIF), fetchpriority, lazy defaults
- JavaScript audit: unused code, duplicated bundles, render-blocking offenders
- Third-party / app audit — what stays, what gets deferred, what gets cut
- Render-blocking CSS and font-loading strategy fixed
- Theme inspector tuning — every Liquid render measured
- Before/after report with both lab (Lighthouse) and field (CrUX) numbers
- Performance budget your team can hold — written down, easy to monitor
Process
How it works
- 01
Baseline
Lab and field measurements on real devices. CrUX export, Lighthouse runs, WebPageTest. Photograph the starting line.
- 02
Prioritize
Stack-rank fixes by Core Web Vitals impact, traffic exposure, and implementation risk.
- 03
Fix in waves
Each wave shipped, measured, and verified before the next. No "we changed everything, hope it's faster".
- 04
Hand-off
Documented perf budget, monitoring setup, and a written checklist your team can apply on every future change.
Frequently asked questions
Can you guarantee a Lighthouse 90+ score? +
Honestly: it depends on which apps you keep. I will tell you up front what's realistic given your stack and merchandise — and what we'd need to drop or replace to hit a specific number.
Will this work for any Shopify theme? +
Yes for any modern Online Store 2.0 theme. Older Online Store 1.0 themes can also be optimized but the ceiling is lower — sometimes a partial rebuild is the right call.
Do I need to remove apps? +
Sometimes. More often we defer them, lazy-load them, or replace them with native theme code. We audit each, you decide.
How long does an engagement take? +
2–4 weeks typical. Audit and prioritization in week one; fix waves and verification across the remaining weeks.
Mobile or desktop? +
Mobile-first — that's what Google indexes and what most of your traffic is. Both improve, but the focus is mobile.
Will faster pages improve my rankings? +
If your mobile Core Web Vitals move from "Needs Improvement" or "Poor" into "Good," yes — Google has confirmed CWV is a ranking signal. The lift is usually modest on its own and amplified when paired with technical SEO fixes.
